The Poco F2 Pro may be the cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone prices at around 400€ it provides the same performance as phones twice the cost.

Screen:

The full size uninterrupted screen makes using this phone a breeze. The increased aspect ratio does mean that videos and movies cannot be displayed on the entire screen without stretching the content, causing parts to be clipped. Some apps, especially games, are likewise not optimized for the increased aspect ratio, causing content to clip.

Lacking a high refresh rate screen could be considered a con, however Poco has opted for a we'll build AMOLED display that even at 1080p is crisp and most importantly can retrain a high brightness. Coming from a 1440p display, the decreased resolution is hard to notice.

The advantage of this display is a more battery efficient screen, that still accounts for about 25-35% of battery usage in my experience.

Worth noticing is that higher refresh rate screens often isn't utilized by apps and games. However the successor to Poco F2 Pro should try to attain at least 90 Hz.

Camera:

Featuring a "quad" camera setup for marketing purposes. The main sensor 64 MP is a great point and shooter. It uses pixel binning resulting in 16 MP images.

The ultra wide camera is great at taking nice looking pictures, however don't expect to be able to zoom in much.

The macro lens is often regarded as a gimmick, however Poco decided to upgrade the macro lens to 5 MP from the otherwise popular 2 MP configuration found in many other phones. This increase makes the macro camera an exciting feature, and it manages to take very good looking images.

The depth sensor is a 2 MP camera that can't be used separately, the quality of images produced are expectedly bad. This lens is however not to be used for capturing moments, but to assist in portrait mode. It does a good job with improvements being available through software.

Night time images is almost entirely left up to the main sensor, although the macro camera will work when combined with flash.

The front camera is embedded in a popup camera and produces nice looking selfies.

The popup mechanism seems good quality, and not likely to fail within the phones lifespan. It's perhaps the best alternative to notches and punch holes.

Camera Note:

I would have liked the camera setup of the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, with a telephoto lens.

Operating System:

Launches with MIUI 11, based on Android 10, this phone doesn't come with a stock Android experience. The operating system is for most people a hate it or love it relationship, it provides a range of features not available in stock android, but also comes preloaded with a larger amount of Xiaomi developed applications.

This phone is the global/international version and thus not the customized EEA edition.

This means that system applications come with advertisement enabled. These adds are easily disabled in settings by turning off "Show Recommendations" in the EEA version this can be done with a single switch in settings.

Advertisement are overall a bit of a downside, but it's a very small price to pay for the value this phone brings, and they are quickly disabled. A none issue for me.

More tech savvy people can uninstall most of the system applications, but in my honest opinion, this isn't necessary.

Advantages of the global version is quicker software updates, since the EEA version is based on the global.

Nothing official about software updates, the Chinese version called Redmi K30 Pro is guaranteed 1 year of software support. However Xiaomi promises 2 years for their high-end phones (The "Mi" line).Based on the previous Poco F1, last official update would feature MIUI 14, 15 or 16 (New release about every 6th month) based on either Android 12 or 13. Effectively providing 2-3 years software support. Security updates are often released bi-monthly, however I've received both June and July security patches.

Other:

The retail packaging comes with a nice transparent plastic cover, and a pre-applied screen protector film.

Only supports a limited range of Sub-6GHz bands for 5G networking.

We may see increased support similar to OnePlus 8 with software update. However the supported bands are enough for the first roll out of 5G in EU.

End notes:

For around 400€ or 369£ this phone is well worth it compared to similar priced phones. The EEA version is often more expensive, priced closer to the MSRP, which makes this phone less attractive.

Buying this phone may require going through third-party sellers, I'd recommend picking fulfilled by Amazon sellers.

Warranty service quality is unknown, however Xiaomi has an official presence in most European countries, especially Spain, so there should be minimum friction here.

...5 Sterne, da Preis und Leistung absolut passend sind. Sogar die Kamera kann teilweise mit deutlich teureren Geräten mithalten. Eine 8K Aufnahme ist möglich aber mehr als Gimmick zu sehen. Auf jeden Fall ist die 256 GB Version zu nehmen, dir 128er ist zu klein. Außer für Streamer vielleicht. Das Display ist super, Akkulaufzeit eins A. Bedienung und haptik top. Empfang deutlich besser als gedacht (danke an den Kunststoff!) , Verarbeitung 8/10. Lieferumfang toll, bis auf einen einfacheren Display Schutz(der aufgebrachte ist bei mir zumindest , nicht ordentlich aufgebracht und leider schon an Tag 2 abgegangen) der fehlt (also gleich für ein paar Euro Panzerglas mitbestellen!). Auch ist das Gerät nicht offiziell IP geschützt, dürfte aber mit entsprechender Hülle ein paar Tröpfchen vertragen. Nervtötend ist die bloatware von Xiaomi, die man aber umgehen und zumindest teilweise , umgehen kann. Ich lasse die Finger von einer chinesischen Cloud etc. Andere berichten durchaus positives. Die Videoaufnahmen in 4k/60 FPS bei relativ ruhiger Hand sind top, die Kamera bei Tageslicht Spitze. Die 64 Megapixel bringen nicht sehr viel mehr Details , machen aber einfach Spaß. Weitwinkel ist eher mäßig, wir bei fast allen Geräten (auch den topmodellen!). Was auch negativ ist: voreingestellt ist das Wasserzeichen, was in der ersten Euphorie dazu führt dass die ersten Bilder unbrauchbar werden. Sound ist genial, über BT und BT Kopfhörer (Samsung Galaxy Buds). Telefonieren klappt einwandfrei. Mikrofone top. Wenn es so bleibt und man regelmäßig Updates bekommt bleibt es bei 5 Sternen - . Ansonsten 1 Stern runter.

Grundsätzlich ein Spitzen Smartphone, die Performance ist wie zu erwarten absolut top.

Das Display ist schön hell, aber bei dunklem Grau recht ungleichmäßig ausgeleuchtet - ein typisches OLED-Problem, aber zumindest bei meinem Gerät doch recht stark ausgeprägt, hat mich richtig geschockt als ich es das erste mal gesehen habe - das tritt aber wirklich nur selten auf, weil man nicht oft ein reines dunkles Grau-Bild betrachtet ;). Die Farbabstimmung ist im Auslieferungszustand nicht wirklich prickelnd und sehr blau/grünlastig, da kann man glücklicherweise aber in den Einstellungen nachhelfen. (und angeblich altern ja die blauen Pixel bei einem OLED sowieso schneller, also sollte sich das mit der Zeit etwas einpendeln). Leider keine 90Hz, aber irgendwo müssen die 200+ Euro Differenz auf die "echten" Flagships ja herkommen.

Das Notch-freie Display lernt man sehr schnell zu schätzen, als ich nach etwas Zeit das Redmi Note 9 Pro in die Hand genommen habe mit der Punch-Hole-Kamera, hat mich das dann richtig genervt.

Die Kameras sind echt gut, die Hauptkamera bietet solide, gut abgestimmte Fotos. Eine Telekamera fehlt zwar leider, aber für einen Naturfotografen wie mich ist das Makroobjektiv dafür echt spitze. Die Aufnahmen sind echt toll, man kann zwar nur "echte" Makros damit aufnehmen (also keine normalen Nahaufnahmen mit etwas Kontext, sondern man hat schon einen sehr kleinen Bildausschnitt), aber die Bilder werden echt gut, und stellen einen echten Mehrwert dar - anders als die üblichen 2MP-Module die jetzt überall auftauchen und die ziemlich schrottige Qualität liefern, und auch wesentlich besser als das 5MP-Modul eines Redmi Note 9 Pro. Für Nahaufnahmen bietet sich wohl eher der Digitalzoom an, oder man nimmt gleich ein 64MP-Bild auf. Weitwinkelaufnahmen sind auch gut brauchbar, mit wesentlich besserem Dynamikumfang als etwa das erwähnte Note 9 Pro. Die Pop-Up-Selfie-Cam ist ein nettes Gadget, und liefert gute Bilder trotz Fixfokus, und nachdem der Hintergrund bei den Selfies die ich aufgenommen habe bisher immer scharf war, sollten Gruppenselfies (Groupies? Aber der Begriff ist eigentlich schon belegt) auch ganz gut werden.

Der In-Display-Fingerabdrucksensor ist zwar nett, aber etwas langsam, da hätte es ein seitlicher, dafür flotter Sensor auch getan, wie im Redmi Note 9 Pro... und durch die Pop-Up-Cam ist Face Unlock natürlich auch langsamer.

Insgesamt ein tolles Gerät, ich schätze das Always-on-Display, die Performance, die Kameras - an manchen Stellen wie dem Fingerabdrucksensor hätte man wohl noch etwas besser machen und gleichzeitig den einen oder anderen Euro einsparen können (und stattdessen z.B. in ein 90Hz-Display investieren können), aber insgesamt bin ich überzeugt. Das Redmi Note 9 Pro mit dem ich es verglichen habe ist zwar auch ein tolles Phone, aber die Kameras sind dann doch eine Stufe darunter, die Kameraussparung stört im Vergleich, das Interface ist etwas langsamer, und die winzige Benachrichtigungs-LED kann das Always-On-Display nicht ersetzen. (Klar, Äpfel und Birnen, 300 vs. 500 Euro, aber für mich ist es der Aufpreis wert).
